My New Favorite Thing!!

We are in our apartment (which is absolutely THE BEST!) and this is one of the appliances in the beautiful, fully equiped kitchen.  Who knew that everyone must have a Nespresso machine?!  But, it's true!  So great, so fast, so delicious.  I've seen those machines in the States with the capsule deals (and Mere tells me that they are all the rage at college) but let me say, this is one so much cooler.  You have to buy the little capsules at a department store and there is literally a whole section of the store with walls of coffee in these fancy sleeves with all the employees dressed in black and looking very chic. Aka this is not Starbucks, kids.  I didn't get a photo the first day because it was just too stressful to choose the coffee from all the choices -(not speaking Italian and all) and you have to tell them the name under which the machine is registered so they can track your coffee (?) and by then I just wanted to get home to try it out!  I got arpeggio because it is one of the dark ones but seriously, I mostly got it bewcause it has a purple strip (they are all color coded) and if you know me at all, you know my favorite color is purple!

This is what they look like.  Inside there are 10 little containers to stick in the machine.   Not seconds later--out flows a PERFECT cup of expresso.  With a PERFECT bit of foam on the top. Then, because I am in Italy and have these cute little expresso cups, i stick one on the machine, wait about 10 seconds and have a quintesscential coffee moment right here in the middle of the Prati.  Life is good.
