Where to start...things I love about Rome, Italy

FICOS
Figs everywhere...it is the season.  Thank goodness.  So we've purchased big, juicy figs at the market to eat with gorgonzola and prosciutto, had fig sandwiches (more on that later), walked on streets named "Fig Street" and planned to eat at Ristorante Fico and go to the cool Bar Fico off the Piazza Navona.  I even had fig gelato at Giolitti's in Tessachio. So indescribably good.   Isn't Rome wonderful!!!!  But this is the final word...healthy yogurt with figs (and it is yummy!).  I got a big supply just because. Ya gotta love this country!!!

CEROTTO
OK.  After days of feet shredding walking...I'm not kidding.  I've worn all my comfy shoes and still, ended up with nasty blisters right down to the bottoms of my feet.  We walk everywhere and meander until my feet are literally bloody.  After blowing through a pathetic box of multi-sized normal bandaids we founds this wonderful product.  Just the cure for all those nasty blisters.  It is a roll of wide bandaid that is cut to the perfect size.  So that nasty 2 inch blister on the top of my foot (not that I'm complaining, it was so worth it!) can bew covered and not have the bandaid move around.  I've been able to slip on my wonderful Toms and re-up my walking in pain free pleasure. A marvel.

MADONNAS
The best for last.  What I love most about Rome is finding our Blessed Mother on buildings on most  corners of lots of buildings.  When walking down the cobbled street and alleys, they are a constant beautiful reminder of her love and care for us.  And, a visual reminder throughout the day to pray for her intercession and to thank her for all the graces she gives to us from her Son.
Sancta Maria, ora pro nobis.
